INFORMATION FOR VOLUNTEERS

If you would like to volunteer to help at Love and Care we recommend a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 6 weeks.

The cost for 6 weeks is £795, including transport from airport and back, and transport from Love and Care to place of residence.

Accommodation will be in a shared house with a kitchen, sitting room, dinning room, three bathrooms and a big backyard. The house is in the area of Fishoek, which has a beautiful beach and numerous shops and restaurants.

Guidelines for staying in the volunteer house:

1. Each room is for one person.
2. There is no room for partners or visiting guests.
3. Kitchen, bathrooms and toilets are shared by all the volunteers.
4. One car can be accommodated in the garage, if needs be.
5. All fees must be paid in advance before coming to the volunteer house.
6. If volunteers want to extend their stay for more than the time agreed they have to pay any extra fees for the additional days.
7. Always have respect for the area you are staying in. Be cautious, but not fearful. Love & Care take no responsibility for activities outside the volunteer house.

Food is not included; you will need to purchase your own food (budget approximately US$50 per week).

We would like to point out that ALL expenses for your time volunteering at "Love and Care" go straight into the project and to help the children and carers there. Unlike some organisations that take a large percentage for their fees the whole amount you pay for your stay goes directly where it is needed.
