Love & Care Centre looking for donations of BRICKS and
CEMENT for residential orphanage on site.

In May 2003 Love and Care day centre was formed from the Ibongolethu sewing group. Love and Care was formed to care for children and their mothers who are living with HIV and AIDS in the Masiphumelele township.

Masiphumelele attracts people coming from rural areas in the Transkie who come to the city in the hope of escaping the massive unemployment and extreme poverty. The township is a high-density residential area that has grown rapidly over the past 12 years in the Southernmost City of Cape Town. The majority of the residents endure extremely difficult and cramped living conditions in shacks made of wood, iron and debris.

Approximately 85% of the residents are affected by HIV/AIDS and related illnesses.
